SPAM - What it is and how to stop it

Spam is flooding the Internet with many copies of the same message, in an attempt to force the message on people who would not otherwise choose to receive it. Most spam is commercial advertising, often for dubious products, get-rich-quick schemes, or quasi-legal services. Spam costs the sender very little to send -- most of the costs are paid for by the recipient or the carriers rather than by the sender.

If you've already tried unsubscribing or if there are no allowances included to unsubscribe, you will want to forward it in it's entirety to the spammer's ISP at abuse@(spammersdomain) which will notify the spammer's ISP that they are illegally using their service.  When forwarding an unwanted or abusive email to postmasters for action, it's very important that you include all of the header information. A great number of spammers, for instance, will do all they can to blur the origin of their message, but they can't forge everything! So click here for a guide to viewing full headers in a variety of popular mail clients.
