VIRUS HELP

As you may already know, viruses are a nasty business.  They can cause permanent damage to your files, hijack your browser, and "borrow" your address book to mail themselves to some of your nearest and dearest friends.  The best way to deal with them is to prevent them from getting to your computer at all.
So how do you prevent viruses from getting into your computer?  Having a reputable, up-to-date anti-virus program is crucial.  Using an anti-virus  program that hasn't been updated is worse than having no anti-virus software at all because it gives you a false sense of security.
If you don't have virus protection click here to purchase and install an anti-virus program immediately!
Now that you have an anti-virus program, it's time to show you how to use it.  When you receive an email through your email client, you should save the potentially unsafe email with the attachment to a floppy disk.  After it's been saved (without opening it), scan the a: drive using your anti-virus program.  If your program is up-to-date and it says that the attachment is clear, go ahead and open it.  If you have any doubts about the email - just delete it.  You're better off losing an email than getting a virus.

Another important reminder - if you run any Windows based operating systems, you should visit www.windowsupdate.com often to make sure that you have all the security patches and critical updates put out by Microsoft.  This will help keep you from getting re-infected from some viruses and let your operating system run at maximum efficiency.
